How did Geography shape Greek Life?
Ancient Greeks had a rather mountainous land form. Believe it or not 75% was covered with mountains! They had seas near there land. these seas included the Aegean, Black, and Ionian. They even had rather nice weather so they spent most of their days outside. Because of their land they didn't necessarily have the opportunity to build any roads. first there were they Mycenaeans who were overall advanced. Later on the Trojans came in and wiped out Greece. later on the Dorians came in who were a much less advanced version of the Mycenaean civilization and they were known as the dumb Dorians and thats because its easier to remember because they weren't exactly smart. On the rise was a great storyteller by the name of Homer. He told stories of Gods, Greek Gods to be more exact. These stories were known as myths. Myths have Greek Gods that represent human traits and nature. It also explains the mysteries of human passion.
How are modern political systems related to Greek city-states?
As we all Know Greece was a major influence on our lives today such as our political systems. For starters the Greeks had these major cities which were known as a polis. Then we have this other word called an acropolis. An acropolis was a fortress where people (to be more exact men because women weren't allowed to vote) gathered to discuss problems that they solved. Our acropolis may serve as where the political problems are solved which is none other than Washington D.C. our capitol. But democracies and representative democracies are just the tip of the iceberg. There are may other ways to govern such as a monarchy which is when only one person rules, that person is a king. An aristocracy is when many rich families rule. A family that rules is an oligarchy. Another thing on top of a monarchy is these type of slaves known as helots. Helots are slaves captured by a king and these slaves are usually from different countries. To look back on Greek government when they went to war they always had a strategy which was a phalanx. they used this mainly in they Persian war where soldiers would have their spears out in a certain way. This was how the Athenians and the Spartans took down the Persians.
How is Ancient Greece still apart of our lives today in reference to democracy, art, literature, and philosophy?
Philosophy, arts and literature had a great impact on Greece. After all wasn't that what Greece was known for? For starters Greece had many great philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates. They are even still known well today. Classical art was even great back then which is sadly isn't today though. Greeks also had quite different forms of entertainment. They had plays which there were one of two genres. It was either comedy which usually made fun of politics and the other was the total opposite which was tragedy and that was about heartbreak. Another way we share similarities is that our ideas of government are similar. This was by democracy. They had a direct but we have a representative. art was not Greeks only focus though. Both Athens and Sparta joined together in the Peloponnesian war and there army was quite a strong army as well.
What was the impact on Alexander the Great's empire?

His forces on military gave a great impact on Greece's army. Philip II of Macedon was king of the ancient greek kingdom of Macedon. Before then Darius II was King o f the Persian Empire from 423 BC to 405 BC. But remember Greece went up against Persia in the Persian war which Darius ruled a bit after.
